I'm Chris Leh - Councilmember, Ward 1

Our Family's Louisville Story.
My wife Natalie and I moved to Louisville in 1994. We were beginning our careers and our family. We knew then it was a special place! Both our daughters were born at Avista Hospital. Fireside Elementary and Louisville Middle Schools nurtured their minds. They learned to swim and somersault at the Rec Center. They sang, acted, and danced with CenterStage. Natalie takes tap lessons, I acted in a community theater production, and for many years, we've both run on City trails. We've met many lifetime friends here. It's home.

Problem-Solving.
I'm a problem-solver. As an employment lawyer, I help clients avoid trouble, generate and analyze options to address challenges that arise, fight hard for them in court, and deliver results. As a mediator, I enable adversaries to find common ground. As Co-Founder and Managing Partner of
Leh Law Group, LLC, I collaborate with clients and empower team members to solve problems, know how to meet a payroll and adapt under pressure.

Operating Principles.
Serving as your representative on Council is about getting the public's business done. I'm collaborative and consensus-oriented problem-solver. I value careful listening, robust debate, and evidence-based policymaking. I work hard to seek out and understand the perspectives and experiences of residents, Councilmembers, City staff, and all others who come before us. I'm able to admit when I'm wrong and change my mind when it's warranted. I'm decisive but willing to look at old issues in new, creative ways.
